Our facility features climbing ropes, a 44’ foot ROGUE Infinity rig, 30 ROGUE barbells, a turf area for prowler training and 5,600 square feet of training space making us large enough for all your training needs, but small enough to never get lost in the crowd. You’ll love training in our facility, but you’ll also love our comfortable lounge area, cubby room to store your training gear, clean restrooms and showers stocked with everything you need to freshen up post workout. MEET OUR EXPERT COACHES
Sarah is a certified Level 2 CrossFit trainer, and a USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach. She is committed to continuing her education and has attended several non-certifying seminars to advance her knowledge including Carl Paoli’s Freestyle Connection Movement and Gymnastics Seminar, and CrossFit’s Movement and Mobility Trainer Course. Sarah has been lifting off and on since high school and rededicated herself to fitness after the birth of her son, Aiden, in 2005. Initially, she followed bodybuilding and competed as a figure athlete, winning several top-five placements and taking 7th in the Arnold Classic Amateur Figure Competition in 2012. In December of that year, Sarah watched her first CrossFit competition and was inspired by the women competing and the sense of community among the athletes and supporters. She decided to dedicate herself to CrossFit. In 2013, Sarah began coaching CrossFit and was a coach at two Chicago CrossFit gyms before opening Movement Republic with her husband, John. She competes regularly in CrossFit competitions and is focused on becoming the best coach and athlete she can be.
Dustin is a certified Level 1 CrossFit trainer. He has been training in CrossFit for eight years, and coaching for the last six. The transition from a traditional style of working out into CrossFit came natural for Dustin as he has an athletic background in soccer, football, and basketball. From the time he entered the sport of fitness, Dustin has been able to train beside, and learn from some of the very best. Training under the likes of the 2010 CrossFit Games Champion, Graham Holmberg, and soon thereafter, 2x CrossFit Games qualifier Marcus Hendren. Dustin was a part of an affiliate team that placed 5th in the 2013 Central East Regional, in his hometown of Columbus, OH. He was also a part of the Movement Republic community team that qualified for the 2017 Granite Games. Dustin is a very vocal and passionate coach as he brings energy and enthusiasm to every class that he coaches. He believes that everyone is an athlete, our bodies are meant to move with purpose, and tries to reinforce that to every person he coaches. Dustin attended The Ohio State University, and has a bachelor’s degree from Ashford University in Business.
John is a certified Level 2 CrossFit trainer, he has a wide range of athletic experience including swimming, football, track, rugby and Jiu Jitsu. He was first introduced to CrossFit in 2010 while working as a personal trainer at Equinox Fitness Clubs in Chicago. Intrigued by CrossFit’s methodology and always in search for new learning opportunities, he decided to get his CrossFit Level 1 Certification, which is required to coach. Upon returning from his Level 1 training course, he knew he wanted to pursue CrossFit both as his career and athletic pursuit. John truly believes in pursuing excellence in his coaching career, always improving his skill set and providing the highest quality coaching. He strives to make CrossFit fun for everyone, but most importantly informative — believing that giving people the knowledge to build a strong and healthy body is invaluable. Additional Qualifications: Mobility, Freestyle Connection Movement and Gymnastics, On-Balance Seminar with Elisabeth Akinwale, National Academy of Sports Medicine Certification (NASM).
Matt is a certified Level 1 CrossFit trainer. Matt began training CrossFit in 2013. He was introduced to CrossFit while watching a group do the ‘Fight Gone Bad’ workout and knew that he wanted his training to be like that. Matt later received his level 1 in 2016 and began coaching at Movement Republic. Matt played a range of sports growing up but mostly football and basketball. He played rugby while in college at DePaul University. Matt wanted to become a coach because “I truly believe in the CrossFit methodology and I am interested in the opportunity to help people achieve greater levels of health and fitness.
